"A single tariff line can wipe out three years of manufacturing margin. I built this so that connection is visible to everyone."

RESEARCH CONTEXT

Growing up inside a trade war

I grew up watching bilateral tariff decisions reshape manufacturing supply chains in real time. When Section 301 tariffs hit Chinese-made textiles, orders redirected to India within weeks. When Liberation Day tariffs struck in April 2025, entire sourcing models had to be rebuilt overnight.

Most people encounter tariffs as a number on a customs form. I see them as decisions that determine whether an artisan in Panipat gets a pay rise or loses their order. This tracker is my attempt to make that analysis accessible — with real data, historical context, and AI-powered strategy.

METHODOLOGY & SOURCES

Where the data comes from

All figures are ad-valorem percentages on the import side. Figures reflect MFN and applied rates for 2025-2026.

Methodology

Coverage. The tracker covers 19 of the world's largest economies by GDP, with bilateral tariff data for every pair (342 total).

Categories. Three tariff categories: overall average applied rate, agricultural products rate, and manufactured products rate.

Reading the data. Each value is the tariff the importing country applies to goods from the exporting country. EU member states share the Common External Tariff (0% intra-EU).

Geopolitical events are sourced from Global Trade Alert (globaltradealert.org), WTO dispute settlement records, and official USTR announcements.

⚠ Tariff schedules change frequently — especially during active trade disputes. Figures shown here are indicative averages and should not be relied on for customs clearance or legal purposes. This is an independent college research project submitted for academic purposes.
